Historian, archaeologist and museologist. Graduate in Fine Arts from the Universidad Complutense of Madrid. Academic member of the Spanish Royal Academy of History, Dean of the members for Cantabria. Associate member of the Academia da Marinha of Lisbon. Sea National Award in the 1988 call. Founder and Director of the Cantabrian Maritime Museum for 35 years. He has directed 20 archaeological campaigns, subaquatic and terrestrial. He has chaired 49 thematic exhibitions. He has written 51 books and more than 200 research Works published in specialized journals and collective books.
