Karolina A. Krośnicka, Ph.D., D.Sc., is associated professor at the Department of Urban Design and Regional Planning, Faculty of Architecture, Gdańsk University of Technology (Poland). Her current research interests concentrate on the port-city spatial relations, planning the port’s and post-port’s areas, Integrated Coastal Zone Management, and the theory of urban dynamics. For many years she was employed at the Department of Transport and Logistics at the Faculty of Navigation at Gdynia Maritime University (Gdynia, Poland), where she was mostly involved in issues connected with planning and operating of seaports terminals. Her last book is devoted to the spatial consequences of functioning of port container terminals for the city, region, and country. For two terms (2012-2018) she was the president of Gdansk branch of the Society of Polish Town Planners. She is a member of the International Society of City and Regional Planners.
