Alberto Gomes Silva graduated in Social Sciences and post-graduated in Research and Urban and Regional Planning, Urban Sociology and Social Science in Community Work. He taught Sociology at the law school of the University Candido Mendes and worked in the City of Angra dos Reis as chair of the PROSANEAR, first public basic sanitation program conducted in the city. He also worked as a consultant for agencies such as World Bank, and FAU-Sepurb SP, in the evaluation of slum upgrading and rural sanitation programs, and was national director of ActionAid. From 2010 to 2012, as a special advisor to the president of the Port Region Urban Development Company of Rio de Janeiro (Companhia de Desenvolvimento Urbano da Região do Porto do Rio de Janeiro - CDURP), created and coordinated programs Cultural Porto Maravilha and Porto Maravilha Citizen. Since december of 2012 is the CEO of the same company.
