Rui Moreira

Mayor of Porto Municipality.

He attended the German School of Oporto, the Liceu Nacional Garcia de Orta and graduated in business management in 1978 from the Greenwich University (London, England), having the award for best student of the course. Returned to Portugal and to his hometown, has been an active voice in defense of the interests of the city of Porto and the North of Portugal, organizing and participating in conferences on the topic and writing in the press. He was also a political commentator on several television stations. As international yachtsman, he was National Champion. He was a member of the Advisory Board of FC Porto. Was president of the Porto Chamber, since 2001 to 2013 and has played alongside many advisory positions in the areas of trade, culture and education at the University of Porto and the Catholic University. Was elected Mayor of Porto in September 29, 2013, as an independent.
