Pedro Ressano Garcia is an architect who divides his time between research, teaching and the practice of architecture, with extensive experience in waterfront urban design. Research nourishes practice, teaching inspires both and his production is influenced by all three. Currently teaches in Université Laval, Quebec, Canada, and since 2019 is the coordinator of the H2020 MSCA-RISE, an initiative that links research and innovation on waterfronts through technology for excellence of resilience to face climate change. He is the author of the book Tagus Platform – Back to the River, Lisbon’s waterfront and the 21st Century. In his office in Lisbon, Ressano Garcia Arquitectos, theory and practice are combined in projects of architecture, urban design and in the development of studies and ideas that give value to each cultural reality.
