Graduated in Civil Engineering in 1983 at the University of Catania (Italy), obtained the PHD degree at the Politecnico of Milano. He is responsible for his University in PORTA (Ports as a gateway for Access inner regions) program MED project and in the Thecnological district NAVTEC (sicilian commercial and recreational maritime transport district), being carrying out the SEAPORT project, advanced Training Course for the sustainable development of port areas. Coordinator of a II level university master titled ”Transport systems: sustainable mobility and multimodality”. Professor of Transport Planning and Director, since November 2022, of the Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture (DICAR), University of Catania.
