Antonella Caroli is Honorary inspector of the italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage, since December 2017 also the president of Italia Nostra in Trieste and since september 2018 national councillor of Italia Nostra. Previously she was director of the Museum compound of the Port of Trieste and General Secretary of the Port of Trieste (from 2000 to 2004). She graduated in architecture at the Politecnico di Torino and for many years she worked on the reuse and development of the port of Trieste, on logistics too. She published several books about the Port of Trieste, the historic buildings, the Kunstgewerbeschulen, waterfront redevelopment, abandoned port areas and their historical and cultural heritage, the historic town and the port of Trieste.
