Luís Pedro Martins has a long professional and civic intervention career. He has a degree in Equipment Design from the Escola Superior de Arte e Design; Postgraduate in Marketing Management at Porto Business School, University of Porto. He attends the Executive MBA at Catholic University. He was a member of the Portuguese Parliament in two Legislatures and Assistant to a Minister of Justice. He was responsible for Communication and Marketing at Santa Casa da Misericórdia do Porto for 4 years. Between 2014 and 2018 he was Executive Director of Torre dos Clérigos, achieving, during this period, a notable growth in the number of visits to this icon of the city of Porto, having broken all records for visits to a national monument. With a long experience in the areas of Marketing and Communication, being the author of more than a hundred campaigns, Luís Pedro Martins extended his activity to different areas, such as teaching Marketing, at Porto Business School, where he still remains. He is a member of the Advisory Board of ISAG and a member of the General Board of the University of Maia. He has an enormous passion for the region and remains totally faithful to the regionalist principles that have always guided his public intervention. The presidency of the two Tourism entities of Porto and North of Portugal is his new challenge, having managed to fulfill an old ambition of the tourism sector by unifying TPNP and ATP. On January 18, 2019, he was elected President of the Regional Tourism Entity of Porto and North of Portugal. On October 1, 2020, he takes office as President of the Associação de Turismo do Porto e Norte (Regional External Promotion Agency), after having won the election with 98.5% of the votes cast. He was re-elected for a new ATP term on December 15, 2022, this time by unanimous vote.
