Postdoc in Complex Systems, with main focus on social vulnerability associated with environmental hazards, at the Department of Physics and Astronomy Ettore Majorana of Catania, tutor Prof. F. She is currently a research fellow at the Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture (DICAR) of the University of Catania. From the earthquake and social vulnerability topics, the research project moves in particular from the question of "safe city" posed by the community in the risk society: thanks to the selection of some predominant factors in the definition of the complex risk paradigm, it is intended to overcome the gap between a strictly techno-centric approach and a socio-anthropological approach, which emphasizes the vision of risk as a social construct.
