Cristina Calheiros, Environmental Engineer, and holds a PhD in Biotechnology. She is Researcher at CIIMAR, Coordinator of the Centre for Monitoring and Environmental Interpretation (CMIA-Vila do Conde), Adjunct Professor at University of Saint Joseph (Macao) and Invited Professor at University of Porto. European Climate Pact Ambassador certified by European Comission. Her work focus on the development of nature-based solutions, such green roofs, vertical gardens, constructed and floating wetlands, towards sustainability of territories and as tools for climate change adaptation and mitigation and ecosystem services promotion. Also dedicates to phytoremediation, treatment and valorization of water, soil and solid waste, development of integrative productive practices, circular economy, environmental education and sustainable tourism.
