Senior architect and urban planner, with 36 years’ experience in planning, design, construction, supervision of building and infrastructure works. Leader in urban regeneration operations, regional and urban development plans. Wide knowledge in coordination of multi disciplinary teams in projects of design and supervision of urban systems including refurbishment of buildings in historic centres, development and rehabilitation projects. Last 24 years activity centred in Oporto Historic Centre, managing large refurbishment projects of dwelling and urban infrastructure, as Director and Board Member. Former has been Regional Director of the Portuguese Housing and Urban Renewal Institute (IHRU) from the beginning of 2009 to October 1012. In the same period, member of the board of Porto-Vivo, SRU, a state and municipal partnership society to the regeneration of Historic Centre and Downtown of Oporto. From 1988 to 2010, was professor on Urban and Regional Planning in Aveiro University.
