José Ignacio Landaluce is the Mayor of Algeciras City Council. Degree in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Granada, he is President of the Spanish Association of Medical Centers. Landaluce began his political career in 1987, as a Councilor for the Algeciras City Council, becoming Mayor of the city in 2011. In addition, he was Deputy for the Province of Cádiz between 2000-2004 and 2008-2015. He is First Vice President of the foreign affairs commission in the Congress of Deputies and President of the foreign affairs commission in the Senate. Currently, he is also a substitute member of the Permanent Deputation of the Senate, second secretary of the Committee on Petitions, the spokesman for the Mixed Congress-Senate Commission on relations with the Ombudsman, and a member of the Mixed Commission Congress-Senate of the European Union.
