Born in Castellón de la Plana in 1962, holds a Degree and a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Valencia. Professor at the University of Valencia from 1985 to 1991. Then he moved to the University Jaume I as Professor of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence. Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the “11th International Conference on Industrial and Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence and Expert System”. President of Puertos del Estado since February 25th, 2020. President of the Port Authority of Castellón from September 2015 to February 2020. During that period the Port of Castellón became the most profitable Port Authority in the National Port System (related to its own funds), increasing its figures more than double compared with the average growth of the total System. Rector at Jaume I University during the period 2001-2010, formerly Vice-Rector of Research and Planning 1997-2001 and Vice-Rector of Economic Affairs and Planning 1995-1997. During his mandate the first communication plan of a Spanish University was launched. In addition, the Strategic Plan and Strategic Management System of the University was developed (awarded with highest European seal of excellence in management, EFQM 500+).
