Cecilia Ribalaygua, Architect , Phd in Urban Planning. After specialization in the Universities of Berkeley and Technical University of Madrid, she develops its research and teaching activities at the universities of Castilla-La Mancha (1998-2006) and Cantabria (2006-present) as Associate Professor at the Department of Geography, Urban and Regional Planning. She has driven various research projects in the National Plan Research framework on the impact of transport infrastructure strategies and urban development. She is currently coordinating a research project on sustainable urban development for the Inter- American Development Bank at Guatemala and Mexico. Also, she currently coordinates the research at UC analysing urban impact on all Spanish cities with high speed rail. As a result of her research experience she has published more than 20 articles indexed in international journals and edited several monographs. she has participated as a partner in various international graduate programs - Universities of Pennsylvania, Texas (USA) and Wuhan (China) - organized and participated in seminars on urban planning (UIMP, La Rioja, Rovira i Virgili, UCLM, UP. Valencia). She has participated as an expert in think tanks on urban strategies to be developed in various international forums, including the US HSR Association, the International Union of Railways, L’equipement Ministere de France and several Spanish municipalities.
