Engineer (1994), PhD in Territorial and Urban Planning (2002). Having graduated in 1994, he specialized at the School of Specialization in "Methods and Tools of Urban and Territorial Planning" - "La Sapienza" University of Rome (1997). In 2001 he obtained a second level Master's degree in "History and Analysis of the Territory" - University of Catania. From 2000 to 2015 contract professor at the University of Catania, Faculty of Architecture. He has carried out various research on the widespread city and the historic city, and has published several disciplinary contributions. Today he holds the role of Director of the Urban Planning Office of the Municipality of Catania, designer of the new General Urban Plan.
