Francesco Messineo

Francesco, born in 1968, has twenty years’ experience in the planning, design, construction and operation of port infrastructure. He has a “cum laude” degree in civil engineering, hydraulic specialization. Since 2012 he served as chairman of the Port Authority of Marina di Carrara. Previously he worked as a freelancer, as secretary general of the Port Authority of Salerno, as top manager of the Port Authority of Gioia Tauro and as technical director of Area 24 SpA, a public company that manages the Coastal Park of Western Liguria. He has participated, as an "expert", the work of the Higher Council of Public Works and was invited as a speaker at numerous international meetings organized, among others, by the European Commission and ESPO (European Sea Ports Organisation). For his task within the Port Authority, he takes part to the discussion tables of various European, Italian and local programmes of transports, ports and logistics development.
