Walter de Vries is urban planner for the Municipality of Rotterdam (Gemeente Rotterdam). He studied urban planning at the Delft University of Technology, The Netherlands. He works on themes concerning the relation between city and port, for example the long term vision for Stadshavens Rotterdam and the Spatial Framework for the Merwe-Vierhavens (M4H) area.
