Graduated in Economic and Business Sciences from the University of Seville (US) and PhD from the University of Cadiz (UCA). She is a Professor at the Department of General Economics, in the area of Applied Economics at the UCA. From 2019 until June 2023 she has held the position of Vice-Rector of the Algeciras Bay Campus of the UCA. Since July 2023 she is General Director of Research Planning of the Department of University, Research and Innovation of the Government of Andalusia. She has been Director of the Official Master's Degree in Logistics and Operations Management held by the International University of Andalusia (UNIA), the US and the UCA; likewise, she has been Academic Director for the UCA of the Interuniversity Master's Degree in Port and Intermodal Management and Planning, taught since 2011 by the Polytechnic Universities of Madrid, La Coruña, Oviedo and Cádiz. She has also been Director and Coordinator of the Official Master's Degree in Port Management and Logistics at the UCA from 2006 to 2019. She has participated in more than sixty activities related to national and international external teaching, the organization of conferences, seminars and courses of continuous training. She has extensive experience in the field of research, focusing his lines of work in the maritime-port and logistics fields and has published more than fifty articles in reference journals. She has participated as principal investigator or participant in various national and international competitive research projects. She has also completed several stays in foreign academic institutions, such as the International Maritime University of Panama (UMIP), the Institut Portuaire d'Enseignement et de Recherche (IPER) in Le Havre (France) or in the University of Malta.
