In the São Paulo State Government occupied the follow functions: Director of Special Projects at the Foundation for the Development of Education (2002); Deputy Secretary of the State Department of Education; youngest State Representative elected that year (2006), re-elected (2010); Secretary of State for Social Development (2011); Secretary of State for Economic Development, Science and Technology (2012). He was elected and re-elected Mayor of Santos (2013-2020). Elected Federal Deputy for the State of São Paulo (2022). In 2023, he created the Parliamentary Front for Ports and Airports with the aim of debating management models and sustainable development, operational and logistical costs, infrastructure investment plans and other important issues for these modes of transport. He also created the Parliamentary Front for the Santos-Guarujá Dry Link (by tunnel subaquatic). In 2024, he took over as vice-chairman of the National Congress' Traffic and Transportation Committee, and become a member of the Committee for the Defense of the Rights of Personswith Disabilities. In 2025, he was elected Member of the Board Directors Chamber Deputies, and became a member of the Commission for the Defense of the Rights of Personswith Disabilities.
