Mónica AGEITOS

Ms. Mónica Ageitos Ph.D, has a Doctorate in Law and Social Sciences from the University of Uruguay (Universidad de la República Oriental del Uruguay). Ms. Ageitos holds a Diploma in International Trade and Transportation and attended courses on International Maritime and Port Law, and on Energy Law at the Law School of the University of Montevideo. Ms. Ageitos is a Professor in Transport Law at the Catholic University of Uruguay and she also works as a Professor at the Training Institute of the Navegation Centre of Uruguay in the International Transport module. She specialized in the Maritime, Port, Customs and Logistics sector alongside Dr. Ariosto González. In 2011 she began working at the Navegation Centre of Uruguay as a Legal Advisor. In 2017 she held the position of Executive Manager until 2020 and since then to date she is the President of the Institution. She is also Vice President of the Uruguayan Branch of the Ibero-American Institute of Maritime Law. Ms. Ageitos is a former President of the Uruguayan Association of Maritime Law (2014) and is currently a member of the Board of Directors. She has been appointed since 2018 as Treasurer of WISTA URUGUAY-Women's International Shipping & Trading Association.
