Luís Valente de Oliveira

European Coordinator for Motorways of the Sea - Priority Project 21. Directorate-General for Mobility and Transport, European Commission.

Luís Valente de Oliveira (born 1937) is graduated in Civil Engineering (1961), holds a M.Sc. in Transportation Planning (1871) and a Ph.D in Civil Engineering (1973). He became Full Professor of Univerity of Oporto - Faculty of Engineering in 1980. He was Minister of Education and Scientific (1978-1979), Minister of Planning and Territorial Administration (1985-1995) and Minister of Public Works, Transports and Housing (2002-2003) in the Portuguese Governements. He is European Coordinator for PP 21, Motorways of the Sea, since September 2007.
