Architect, Full Professor of History of Architecture, believes that knowledge of history is an essential foundation for education and cultural growth, as well as for the design process. She is the promoter of series on the History of Architecture (“Illustrated History of Architecture” and “Small Books for the History of Modern and Contemporary Architecture”) and of international cultural events. She has written numerous books on modern and contemporary architecture, many of which have been translated in Europe and America. She has served as president of the International Center of the Society of Jesus (which she promoted) and of the provincial section In/Arch Palermo. She is a national advisor on the board of In/Arch and a collaborator of the international magazine “Le Carré Bleu.” She received the award for historical and environmental research in 1991, a special mention from Eurosolar in 2001, the Transport & Culture award in 2005, and the In/Arch award in 2009. She is an honorary member of the National Academy of Sciences, Letters, and Arts of Palermo, and her archive has been declared of significant historical interest by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage.
