Felicitas Hillmann studied geography, italianistic and linguistic at the university of Freiburg, Germany. Her academic positions include the Social Science Research Center in Berlin, Bremen University and guestprofessorships at the Free University of Berlin and Colgne. She has published extensivly in the field of international migration. One strand of research focuses on the link between the new geographies of migration, mobilities and the transformation of emblematic places such as port cities.
