Stephen Haynes is Executive Director for Growth and Prosperity at Southampton City Council, where he provides strategic leadership on urban regeneration, economic development, housing delivery and place based growth. He has held senior leadership roles across local government spanning policy, urban and community development, corporate strategy, including as strategic director at the London Borough of Hackney where he led the Council’s innovative social housing delivery programme. Stephen is passionate about delivering inclusive, sustainable growth and shaping cities that work better for their communities. He studied Politics and East Asian Studies at Newcastle University and holds an MSc in Public Policy and Management.
