Author of many studies and publications about the organisation, management and economy of ports and their urbanistic renewal. The main studies, consulting and publications are about the ports of Latinamerica (Buenos Aires, Rosario, Santos, Valparaíso, Rio de Janeiro and Cartagena de Indias) and Spain (Barcelona, Vigo, Tarragona, Algeciras, La Coruña, Baleares).
At present, he studies the economic relations between port and city in a context of urbanistic reforms of old spaces, as well as the development of new platforms and logistic zones (distriparks).
Member of Scientific Committee of RETE and member of Scientific Committee of International Association Cities and Ports.

Curator for the Venice Architecture Biennale  of the special section Cities on Water of the 9th International Architecture Exhibition, in Venice, Arsenal – Floating Pavilion (2004) and the four exhibitions ‘Città-Porto’ (City-Port) of the 10th  International Architecture Exhibition, in Palermo (2006).

Scientific Director of the Thematic Pavilion “Cities on Water” of Zaragoza International Expo 2008.

Member of the International Committee of Experts of the Biennial of Architecture of Buenos Aires.

Curator for the Biennial of Architecture of Buenos Aires of the exhibitions: “The new urban waterfronts” (2005), “Veneto 40: young Italian architects to the test” (2009) – also in Quito Architecture Biennale (2010), and “The Blue of the City. Four architects interpret the Urban Water “(2011).   

Author of several publications on the redevelopment of the waterfronts and the Port-City relationship. Among others, “Waterfronts. A new frontier for cities on water”, Venice , 1993;  “Complexity on the urban waterfront”, in “Waterfronts in Post-Industrial Cities”, London and New York, 2001; “The Port City of the XXIst Century. New Challenges in the Relationship between Port and City”, RETE, Venice, 2011.

Speaker in international meetings and conferences in many countries.
